The Career Springboard (with spring rolls!) is a practical afternoon of career development workshops to help you to boost your confidence and reach your aspirations. Students will also be given the opportunity to have FREE professional headshots taken for their LinkedIn profiles. All with spring rolls and refreshments throughout the day!
Programme of events (you can attend all or just some of these workshops)
12:00pm – 12.45pm: Graduate SOS – Exploring your options post-graduation
Find out about the options available to you with your degree. This workshop is designed to help you identify the wide range of career areas and job roles open to you, as well as gaining an insight into the skills required and further study options available.
12:45pm – 1:30pm: Applying for graduate jobs
Explore the process of applying for jobs online and find out what employers are looking for. We will explore the hidden jobs market and look at how to confidently approach employers to get that dream job.
1.30pm – 2:15pm: Building professional resilience
Having a high level of professional resilience is a useful skill when searching for your first graduate job (and beyond!). During this session, you will learn about the capabilities, skills and self-care practices that can help to manage stressful situations and allow you to successfully plan your career journey.
2:15pm – 16:00: Job shop (269 computer lab):
We will provide students with live vacancies and job searching support. Students are encouraged to bring in their CVs to be reviewed, as well as details of any job roles that they are interesting in applying for. All attendees have the opportunity to have a FREE professional headshot taken for LinkedIn on the day.
