Digital education: free online learning opportunities for students transitioning to University
23/04/2018 @ 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM

The University of Leeds provides a portfolio of 17 short online courses that run monthly. Free of charge, easy to access and covering a range of topics, these courses can be used in the classroom or for home study.
Designed to provide a taster of University study, these 2-week courses introduce a range of topics from fashion to medicinal chemistry. With just four hours of learning the courses can be embedded into the curriculum or included as self-study activities. Topics are introduced through engaging videos with individual or group activities and opportunities for checking understanding.
We also provide series of online courses which are available free of charge for interest or can be taken for University credit. These series of online courses are available twice yearly and run over ten weeks. An additional assessment course is available for those wanting to gain credit.
These versatile online learning opportunities are ideal for teachers who can use them as classroom enrichment material, and draw on the discussion activities within their teaching.
To find out more about the School’s portfolio and the series of online courses join the session. We are also keen to hear what topic of study you would be interested in, either as a student or teacher. Help us to define our future offerings through group discussion.
