QUAD Creative Wellbeing Symposium

12/04/2018 @ 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

In April 2018, QUAD begins a ‘Year of Wellbeing’: celebrating, exploring and promoting the ways in which arts and creativity can support health and wellbeing.

The Creative Wellbeing symposium is an opportunity for organisations and individuals to nurture collaboration and partnership working around arts and health.

Mike Brown, Arts Development Manager, Derby City Council will introduce the symposium, outlining the context for arts and health locally and the city’s evolving Culture Strategy.

The Symposium will begin with a series of short presentations with Q&A sessions including: –

  • Digital Participation with Families: Debbie Cooper freelance artist, currently Artist in Residence at Nottingham Contemporary
  • Creativity and Mental Health: Nicola Ward, Enjoying Derbyshire Manger, Derbyshire Mind
  • Working creatively with children with Autism and SEN: Abbie Canning, artist and Q Club Coordinator, QUAD
  • Supporting wellbeing through creativity: QUAD staff and participants

After a networking break with refreshments, we will conclude with facilitated discussions about future developments including the possibility of regular meetings to share good practice, information and opportunities for collaboration.
