If you answer yes to any of these questions, you might be interested in our Volunteer Management Training programme. Whether you involve one or 1,000 volunteers, this training will help you attract and select suitable volunteers and provide a positive experience for all. This interactive training opportunity is packed with practical advice that you can use immediately as well as food for thought as you evaluate how you work with volunteers.

There are four different modules in the training programme. Participants are encouraged to attend all four modules however you can register for any of the modules that meets your current needs.The four modules will be held between March and November 2018 and places are limited to 12 participants on each module to ensure participation.

Module 2: Volunteer Engagement

This module focuses on developing effective recruitment and selection procedures e.g. recruitment campaigns, application process, screening/selection and interview process. The module explores the core principles of good practice for the effective recruitment and selection of volunteers.

By the end of the module, you will be able to:

• Prepare an effective recruitment strategy.
• Develop and implement fair and effective screening and selection procedures

Principles of Galway Volunteer Centre’s Approach to Volunteer Management Training

This programme is delivered in a hands-on, participative style and is designed to provide you with a best practice volunteer management framework for involving volunteers in your organisation.

It is the intention of Volunteer Galway to ensure that the modules focus on the practical realities of managing volunteers, so that participants can see the value of taking a strategic and structured approach to volunteer management within their organisation.

Volunteer Galway staff have been trained and accredited through Open College Network Northern Ireland (OCNNI) to deliver the National Volunteer Management Training Programme.

We also work to a limit of 6 people per course, to ensure that each participant has a fair amount of time to contribute on the day, as this, we believe is the most effective means of learning.
